Controversy + Insight = Good Read
The life story of the controversial Chicago Catholic priest Andrew Grreley, told by himself. Greeley’s digressions are always interesting, and he never misses an opportunity to state his opinion. His style does not move directly from point A to point B, but rather spirals around his subjects, gradually moving along through the course of his life. If you want a vivid picture of Irish Catholic life from the 1920s to the 1980s, this is the book for you. Greeley is not just provocative, though. He offers plenty of insight into his own life and the life of the church as he experienced it.
