Except for haing to score planks on deck & plastic parts on a wooden model, it is a nice kit for a beginner
It is a decent kit with very nice lines; however, I do not like that the deck is not scored to show planks--the builder has to do that; nor do I like plastic parts on a wooden model! Otherwise, it is a nice kit with "sweet" lines for a sail boat. It is realistic and not a "primitive" rendition. As described and is a great beginner model. I ordered as needed an "instant gratification" project after doing a level 1 BlueJacket model, levels 1 & 2 Midwest models, and another that required planking a hull on a dragger/shrimp boat.

Attractive, Comfortable, and Speidel
I have had this style in the past and love the Speidel band that fits well and is flexible. The one I replaced was over 15-years-old and was still fine, but inside the compartment the stamping for Diabetes on the bottom of one side and Allergies on the bottom of the other side was getting hard to read. Although this new one doesn't have that, I really like the style. The info paper that folds to go into the compartment does not have much room for the info I needed, nor did the old one, I just make a 1-1/2" wide column and list my info--over 16 lines (Diagnoses, RX, Allergies, etc. Set in 6 or 7 pt bold font, trim and roll. then flatten, & it fits in the compartment. A 2nd copy is taped to the back of the medical card.
The bracelet is attractive and comfortable! For today's prices, with free shipping, it is a good value.

Quality Name Brand is Better than Quantity of No Name Brands
Have tried the cheap, no-brand blades, that appear to be a good price for quantity, but in the long-run, the Name Brand is worth any little bit of extra money for the better quality vs quantity. I get far more mileage out of the Name Brand; each Name Brand blade lasts much longer than the no-name brands that sometimes don't even work for one cut!
