iPod 80G Classic, Classic or Not???
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich Not such a classic. These 80G+ start at generation 6 of the iPods, generation 5 and below are called Video vs Classic. If it were a Classic, wouldn't you think it does all of the things the prior version did, just bigger in size? Well, check Apple's website on the specs. I owned a 30G and thought I'd upgrade and be able to use my entire iTunes and setup I already had, NOT! Read the small print on the back of the box. The generation 6 iPods are totally different and require iTunes 7.4 and greater, well, I'm still an Windows 2000 (win2k) user. Stop, too bad, Apple only let's wk2 user use up to version 7.3, thus you can not use the unclassic Classic. A lot of work computers are still w2k, so if you're in this group and want to bouch between 2 computers too stay sync'd on the road, or don't want to buy XP for another $100 (yet the pc is too slow so it will cost you another $400-$1000 for a new one). Thus, the $249 iPod Classic (I thought classic ment old, yet this appears to mean new), could cost you up to $1000 upgrade for a new PC... Mine went back, I went to Circuit City and got a refurbed 30G Video (the real Classic) for less and kept all my w2k machines and compadiability. GREAT JOB APPLE, PUT YOURSELF IN THE CORNER ALL BY YOURSELF AGAIN! Just as I thought you guys figured it out, you blew it again...
See the Win XP and Vista Requirements and the note at the below for W2K:
