Great, helps with skin breakdown
I'm a t4 paraplegic that is stuck in bed due to severe pains when seated up right in my chair. My insurance will send tons of cheap chucks. But it is worth it to me to buy these. My backside was having some problems with the cheap chucks because they hold in all moisture including sweat. My backside would never be dry even with a low air loss mattress. These allow the air flow to get through and keep the skin dry. However, this does mean that if a larger amount of liquid soaks the chuck it will go through to the mattress. In doesn't affect me, but if you are on a regular mattress you would want a chuck with a plastic back. These are strong enough that they can be used a draw sheet. Making these even better to have less under you to possibly bunch up and cause pressure sores.
So if you are in as bad of shape as I am, it's well worth it to buy these than settle for the junk that insurance companies will pay for.

Does exactly what it's supposed to do
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Fairly easy to replace. My wife had to struggle some with getting the old connector out and the new one in. But that's also good so that we know it's not just fall out or even come out when pulled on. Perfect replacement if this is what you need.

Overall happy but wish it was better
This mattress does what I would call micro adjustments. Other mattresses that I have been on you could feel major changes in which tubes were filled with air. This mattress does little changes that the only reason why I know it's changing is I can hear the crinkle of the tube as they inflate or deflate. And you have to be still and it has to be quiet to hear the changes.
My other complaint with the mattress is the cover tends to move with me when I try to pull myself higher into the bed. I'm 6' tall and it seems that I work myself down the bed to where my feet are touching the foot board. When I pull myself up, the cover moves with me. So when I let go it pulls me back down. I don't use a sheet with this mattress, which is what you are supposed to do if you need the low air loss function of this system.
After all of that, I would still recommend this system. My skin is in better shape with this system and some high quality chucks that have good air flow. I had been on a model 14027 that didn't fully inflate anymore. So almost anything would have been an improvement. When you make a decision just make sure you do tons of research before you give up your hard earned money.
