old and excellent Beta deck
It's a bit heavy, as some, great, electronic-type products can be, and it contains some great engineering, from Sony. Beta was the choice, during a certain time, and Sony made the best Beta-type products ... as the latter survive the many years after their productions. ... If you have old Beta dubs/tapes, and want to transfer them to VHS, DVD and/or other forms that have products, in reproduction, that are NOT of the older, almost-extinct type ... then refurbished Sony Beta decks (and I'm not saying that OTHER, Beta decks are disallowed) ... are the choice, and then you should investigate ebay and Sony/Beta.

Schama and eight artists
Schama possesses an exceptional mind, and is a unique assessor of artistic talent of the past. His earlier view of Britain, itself, is also on DVD, and should be viewed by anyone wanting further enlightenment about the entire evolution of that island nation and its progenitors, rulers, etc. Just one man's opinion, but investigate for yourself.

The great past
The past, of great recordings, is WELL-represented by Wilhelm Furtwangler. This reissue from Music and Arts has a conductor who SPECIALIZED in Wagner recordings, in decent sound and excellent performances, even in excerpts.
