Bargain Ferraris
The Mattel "Elite" Ferrari models were remarkably good for their price. The best of them were very good indeed, particularly those of some of the earliest cars. At introduction they may have seemed expensive, but on reflection a lot of collectors and Ferrari fans are sorry they are no longer available. Like the best of the real cars, some of the best of the Mattel cars have also gained value with time. You can check for yourself on Ebay.

Ferrari Dilemma
Once derided, the 308 GT4 has gained stature. The "Dino" name, the Bertone / Gandini styling, the four seats, the V8 came as shock to some. Efforts to promote sales took several directions, including a name change and the unfortunate paint scheme on this model, half silver, half black. But over time, the good qualities of this first rear mounted V8 Ferrari road car became evident and it now enjoys a much better place in the Ferrari story.

No openings, but sometimes "less is more"; nicely done.
Very nice model, well built and durable. Great companion for the "English" model of the same car.
