Made me curious

Won the Pulitzer Prize and had great reviews. An unusual story that caught me immediately and continued through the whole book. I was familiar with some of the physical locations and the feel of his various time periods as I am little older and have lived several places.

An amazing story of ideas pursued to try to protect the USA from a nuclear missile attack, among other interesting efforts pursued by DARPA in a wide range of problems. Having worked in nuclear technology at Los Alamos I thought I'd heard it all but most of this information was new to me.
