Seeking God!
The bible should be our go to for knowledge and wisdom that can only come from God and His Words as His Holy Spirit teaches us when we seek Him with a contrite heart and humble spirit.
With that said I do like Tony Evans books because you can sense he is a men God through the way he speaks and teach us about Gods Words and I love how he backs it up with scripture and not his own opinion.
I do recommend Tony Evans books to anyone that loves God.
I think it will only make you want to read the Word of God more or at least it should convict you to know Gods Word and how to apply it to your daily life, like it has done to me.

Luke 5:32 (KJV)
"I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
Repentance is not turning from your sins, it's turning from your unbelief to God. A heart that truly grabs hold of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. John 3:16-21
It's falling at your saviors feet totally helpless as a sinner in need of salvation! Knowing you can't save yourself and anything you do is like filthy rags before a HOLY GOD!
There is none righteous no not one, we all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.
While we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
Jesus Christ died for all our sins, was buried and rose again the 3rd day.
Romans 10:
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
