Penn 114H 6/0 reel rod clamp
Modern steel construction which replaced the old chromed steel clamp which, after 50 + years simply cracked at the bend.

Very nice HO locomotive
Upon opening the box, I observed this well-packed locomotive in a see-through plastic case. The locomotive is very highly detailed, right down to the MU hoses, McHenry(?) couplers, snow plow and ditch lights. It's the first one of IMRCs products I've bought.. and I'm impressed. Ran it on the test track a few times back and forth to verify operation. I don't have DCC yet, but I get closer every day. All works as well as can be observed using only DC. There is virtually NOTHING one must do to improve the looks of this model. If there is a downside, though, it's that the railings grab bars, etc. are VERY fragile and can't be handled roughly. I noticed two broken parts (small ones including a piece of railing) upon removing the loco from the case. As has probably already been said regarding these IMRC models, if you have young ones, put this one away and save it for your adult club members. It may be possible to get replacements if the broken parts really irk a person.. I dunno. So far, though, this is pretty impressive.
