Fresh!
Their sound is fresh, emotional, poignent. I heard about them 20 years ago, from someone whose taste I respect. Its not what I expected, but I liked the music.

Asia's answer to ESP
This was recommended as a view into the culture of the old orient. It speaks to some superstitions held in the culture, and how there is a meaning in everything. I had not read The Joy Luck Club. If you are interested in Asian culture, or perhaps have Asian ancestry, it offers a starting place for talking points.

Too much in this world fels like it is directed at the little guy, and its easy to feel you are a victim. This book is very empowering, as evidenced by the fact that it has been edited and republished several times over the years. I don't know Ms. Huxley's philosophical background, but her basic tips are good.
