Great album from underrated jazz singer Ernie Andrews, one of the great survivors from the Central Avenue Los Angeles jazz scene. He has a bluesy style and was perhaps always in the shadow of Basie vocalist Joe Williams. He is definitely worth hearing.

This set includes four CDs worth of recordings the Beatles made for the BBC between 1962 and 1965. Included are live versions of many songs that were on their records, as well as a number of songs they never recorded commercially from covers of early rock songs to a Lennon-McCartney original. Good performances. Here there records first, but this is a good way to hear their early live sound.

A compilation of recordings in the hokum blues style that was popular in the late 20s and early 30s. The majority of the recordings are by Rufus & Ben Quillian (16 tracks) with 2 tracks by Joe Linthecome, a two part blues by Pratt and George, and two bonus tracks by The Three Stripped Gears. All pretty obscure, but enjoyable hokum blues and rags giving some idea of the popularity and diversity of the style.
