The incredibly beautiful and amazing piano playing aolne, make this a must-have CD.

The Instrumentalists are remarkable, especially the 2 pianists, who are stunning on this CD. (The duo's Opus Klassik award was extremely well-deserved for this work.) The 5 stars are for them. Not so happy with the narration. It is all in German. (Surprised that it wasn't in French, as Saint-Saens was French.) However, I speak neither language...though ultimately it was easy enough to forward through the voice to the next instrumental parts to hear those beautifully played piano sections. Maybe for future production, a lighter, less gutteral voice spoken in ENGLISH, might be possible.

DG are top quality recordings. Only the best artists are asked to record for DG. More importantly, Daniil Trifonov is a supreme artist, and certainly the best concert pianist to rise to the top within the past 2 centuries. The beauty of his performances is breathtaking!
