King Kong (2005) Special Edition

What can you say about Peter Jackson except he somehow makes you care for characters we shouldn't be rooting for or have empathy. In his attempt to take a classic and make it his own Mr. Jackson has exceeded all expectations. A movie that grabs a hold of your attention and makes your forget about all of life's problems, even if it is only for four hours.

The Searchers

John Ford's The Searchers is a sweeping epic of love lost and love found. As a Western, it is the crown jewel in the genre, but it truly is more than a Western. It is about the soul that haunts all of us. I spent sixteen weeks in film school disassembling this movie and it has over the years been one of my all time favorite movies. John Wayne might be the symbol of America but John Ford is America.
