Order your normal size

Heard they ran small though I should have ordered by normal 11 instead of 11.5. Where the toebox creases is a little troublesome due to the material the upper is made of and it crashes onto the top of the little toe. Other than this the shoes grip very well, went through a creek without taking on any water.

Solid shoe for those zone 2 runs

Hoka makes good shoes though fit can always be a challenge. I ordered these in 2E knowing full well the balls of my feet are usually cramped in previous Hoka's. The 2E are good and roomy; almost Altra/Topo roomy though this is what it took. Length-wise these run about a half-size large. I normally run in 11's with some room and could have gotten away with 10.5 on these. Nonetheless, this helps with the extra room I was looking for! When I took the Clifton 4 on a first run of 8 miles I appreciated the extra space length and width in the forefoot and toebox. Heel stayed well put so the extra width in front did not impact the over shoe fit; no rubbing or looseness at all. These are some of the quietest shoes I have run it. No squeak, no sloppy landing...nothing! Just a nice smoooooth ride for the long zone 2 runs. I even did a few side-strides to test the hold on the pavement and these did not roll or give up on grip. The Hoka One One Clifton 4 has just enough cushion to enjoy the ride without being a sponge, and the toe-off/rebound isn't dead though it also isn't lively. Overall a very good shoe that fits well and ride nice.
