Helios 44 - the workhorse vintage lens.
The Helios 44 range is fantastic value, simply the best vintage lens for the price. It's built like a tank, easily serviceable, and due to the large numbers made also readily available. It creates incredible bokeh. This lens should be in everybody's lens bag, especially if you shoot digital.

Good temperature data logger
The Elitech RC-5 is a very good little temperature data logger. It has excellent battery life, and the 32000 points data memory is more than sufficient for a very long range of logged data. The hardware is well made, and at this price-point excellent value. In my opinion there are only two things that keeps this product from getting a full 5 stars:
1) No Linux support, not even with running the software under Wine, or running Windows in a Virtual Machine like Virtualbox. This is a bit of a shame, and I hope Elitech can sort this out somehow. It seems that this is because of some technology choices they made with regards to storing data (it seems to be using an embedded version of Microsoft SQL server), and the driver needed to talk to the USB device itself. Ah wel...
2) Although the software has nice features, it is not intuitive at all. It takes a bit of head-scratching and poking about in the interface to make sense of the functions. Some functions, like clearing the device from data, is not immediately apparent on how to do, it takes some lateral thinking to get it done.
Having said that, the software is by no means unusable. At this price-point, it is hardly worth complaining. So, if unlike me you are using Windows only, you can buy this device with confidence.
