The Woman who Loved Reptiles
Wonderful book about a girl who didn't let anyone stop her from pursuing what she loved: studying reptiles. Joan Procter was a brilliant woman who revolutionized the study of and the zoo care of reptiles. She probably wouldn't have had her chance, but with all the men away fighting in WWI, Joan Proctor was able to prove herself as a curator and then keeper at the British Museum and then at the London Zoo. She was the first to keep komodo dragons in a zoo setting, and was famous for walking her favorite dragon.

Pro pastry cutter that's much easier to use
So much easier than the usual pastry blender. I was watching "how to make pie crust" videos on YouTube to try to improve my crust, and I noticed nearly every pro baker has a version like this. And I now see why. It's easier to use, which is great for me as I have carpal tunnel and arthritis in my hands. Not sure of the physics of it, but the design definitely helps you cut in the butter. It slices right through cold butter without it sticking and smushing, requiring you to take the butter off and warming it up.
