Powerful and truthful account of the reality of domestic abuse!
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Powerful and honest account of her fight for survival during the abuse she, her sons and family members experienced and beyond! As a survivor of 30 yrs worth of domestic abuse throughout my childhood and first relationship and also as a frontline domestic abuse support worker, I am rarely shocked by what perpetrators are capable of. However, having read Rachel’s book, I can truly say this is a must read for anyone affected by domestic abuse, those seeking to recognise the signs, those currently supporting anyone experiencing domestic abuse and those who fail to understand the enormity of the situation in which victims live.
Without seeking pity or admiration, Rachel provides the reader with a truthful and hard hitting account of her own experiences of living with and escaping a controlling man who perpetrated extreme violence towards her. I would highly recommend this book to all! Despite what you think you know about domestic abuse and/or Rachel’s story, I guarantee you this book will open your eyes to the true and devastating impact of domestic abuse.
