This + YouTube tutorials = Easy DIY
I got this kit for an unknown condition B7XA that I pulled from Pick-N-Pull for $170 out the door. I planned to replace the failing trans in a $500 V6 accord coupe I bought to commute in.. i rebuilt the transmission by following step by step videos on YouTube on a channel called "Automatic Transmission"..The dude is a freaking life saver!!! -- he tears down and rebuilds units in real-time and explains what everything does and why it's important. I happened to already have all the necessary tools to do the job, and had made myself a table with a drain and catch-bucket which made things a bit less messy. The instructions included with the shift kit are clear and concise, but following a pro on video gave me the extra confidence that I was doing the job right... I took my time and rebuilt the transmission on one weekend, and then swapped it into the car the next weekend (since I bought a second transmission from the junkyard i was able to continue to drive the car while I rebuilt the transmission and it was only out of commission for one weekend). The only negative thing I can think of is that the kit covers a bunch of different transmissions so there are loads of extra o-rings and gaskets when you are done...you are likely paying for these items which go unused, and you also must choose the correct size o-ring from a variety of choices etc. Still worth it in my opinion because my car shifts like new!
