The two Airstream trailers are the highlight of this kit
The two Airstream trailers are the highlight of this kit. The booth is nice too. The other detail parts are just so so. Get this kit for the trailers, not the other stuff (chairs, firepits, etc) because you will just replace them with better parts later. Does not include the figures (people) or landscape except for three trees.

Nice car for it's price range
This is a nice car. It rolls freely. This model is New Old Stock. It has old fashion NMRA horn hook couplers however it is very easy to replace them with Bachmann EZ Mate couplers. The couplers are truck mounted which are considered to be no good because truck mounted couplers tend to cause derailments when pushed instead of pulled but that shouldn’t really be a problem for this car because old timer trains usually are very short and it is long, heavy trains which have the derailment problem. You can cut the coupler pockets off of the trucks and install body mounted Kadee couplers if you desire.
The biggest drawback to this car is the lack of a road number or any other markings. The words, “Central Pacific” are not even printed on it. This might be accurate for the prototype. I do not know.
The stakes are fragile. I have owned this car in the past and they have broken off. Still it is a nice car representing the 1800s. The underside has nice details for it’s price range. It will fit in nicely with your other Old Timer cars and locomotives.

Very nicely detailed scale models.
These are very nicely detailed scale models of Metrolink bombardier commuter passenger cars. This set includes two standard coaches and a coach with the suicide cab for when the engineer drives the train backwards and sits in the front of the rear coach to control it. Because of the high mortality rate of engineers involved in crashes while being pushed Metrolink has replaced the control cab with a safer design. This is the old design. These are not toys. They are scale models with scale size wheels. They require 22 inch minimum radius curves and number 4 or greater turnouts. I run these cars backward with the control cab in the lead being pushed by the locomotive in the rear at high speeds on my layout and they never derail.
