Good model of a fifties coach
Not sure it's still in production. Mine was from ebay. A lifelike model of a fifties livery coach.

Hornby Clan quite rare and climbing in value
Perhaps one of the least thought through Standard locos produced by BR and definitely the rarest as only ten were built. It was thought they should work the Highland line to and from Inverness - hence their names. But they were not powerful enough on their own. Five of them were withdrawn in 1962 after a very short life and the remainder were allocated to Carlisle Kingmoor. They were used on more secondary passenger and freight services and they frequently turned up in Perth, standing in for Britannias.
The model is a beauty, one of Hornby's best, hard to fault except for the ridiculously
flimsy and tiny electrical connection between loco and tender. No longer available from Hornby, so if you want one, better get your skates on as it's a collector's item now with climbing prices.

Charming, ugly and suitable for most layouts. High Quality model.
A very useful general purpose loco. Was to be seen widely on British Railways and some lasted to almost the end of steam.
The model is a very good copy of the prototype with a good deal of complicated pipework and minor details accurately reproduced. Part of its charm is its ugliness, with little in the way of superfluous embellishment for aesthetics sake. It attracted a few nicknames.
The model should be attractive to railway modellers as the prototype was very versatile, used on every
type of job apart from very heavy freight and express passenger. Its relatively light weight meant it could be found on many branch lines. What's not to like?
