MAINLY FOR NOIR FANS
Somber and suspenseful post-war offering reuniting stars Dana Andrews & Gene Tierney plus director Otto Preminger from their classic “Laura”, except this time the story is not about a missing young woman, but about a bad cop unwittingly “framing” an innocent suspect in a manslaughter case. Excellent blu-ray DVD with tack sharp b&w images, but, though there is romance, subject matter may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

A TOTAL STINKER
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I got this Brand New DVD on its opening bid of $5.99 + $3.75 shipping. Wish I could get a refund - not from the Seller, but from the filmmakers. I thought I would learn something about a certain period of Argentina’s history. Instead, I got stuck with a slick and sick potboiler more intent on exploitation than explanation. However if you’re seeking Necrophilia Heaven, it doesn’t get much better than this. The rest of you will probably lose their dinners within the first half-hour. A minus 5 star rating, if you please

A ROMP THROUGH OLD SPAIN
Silly script and a second rate cast. Diana Dors is onscreen for less than a minute. A pity, her saucy approach would have done wonders for this overblown, dreary and unfunny spy comedy. However, if you're an armchair traveler who likes reminiscing about a glamorous past that no longer exists, this is the best travelogue ever made about Spain. The locales are truly breathtaking. Since the DVD is presented in the SmileBox format (simulating a Cinerama screen), the bigger your flat screen, the better to enjoy the sights. The film's restoration is exemplary. The print probably didn't look this good upon its initial release. The DVD Extras take you back to the film's locales as they look today. A fun idea, better than the main feature's script. The Five-Star rating is strictly for the visuals.
