Good tyres but rather chunky tread
I bought the Ensign Universal tyres to replace the Dunlop universal tyres fitted to my very ancient motorcycle. The Dunlop tyres were fitted by my grandfather over 70 years ago. They looked legal as hard as glass and really couldn’t be trusted!! The Ensign Universal replacements are ok but the tread is a little too chunky for my liking. They almost look like a lean version of an off-road tyre. Nevertheless, these tyres are good quality and I highly recommend them. It’s a shame that I’ll never get to see if they too last 70 years!!

It's ok but .....
It's made of plastic with a couple of metal "gear" wheels and a spring to hold it apart. However, there is a plastic catch which is designed to stop it springing too far apart and it's supposed to stop the wheels twisting sideways. On mine, the catch was very poor; constantly springing open (it was in this state when it arrived) requiring the user to "click" it back together again. If you don't click it together you cant press the wheels together and it wont crimp the wire. It was very cheap (probably Chinese) but cheap shouldn't mean poor quality. After a morning of struggling with the catch, I chucked the crimper in the bin and went back to tensioning frame wires with a twist with my pliers (the old ways are still the best). I may have had a bad one but, based on this experience I wouldn't buy another of this type.

Good stuff!
I use this for making ginger ale and coking in general. Way cheaper than those silly 30g pots from the supermarket and, what can I say, it's good stuff.
