Not the best but not the worst
Not the best version of Oliver Twist but by no means the worst. George C Scott is an unlikely Fagin Tim Curry is a hoot as Bill Sykes and Oliver's blond wig is unconvincing and he is way too cute Try the 1985 BBC 2 series (2 CD's) some overacting but is the closest to the original book

Merlin : The best of the worst!
0 von 3 finden das hilfreich British Television at its best ! Thoroughly enjoyed all the anachronisms, awful dialogue, dreadful special effects, Repeat use of the same locations eg the same old caves, same embankment in the woods, same lawn for the dragon to land on, dodgy accents and sometimes bad acting. Enjoyed how Merlin and others could always find each other in the woods even on foot when their quarry had apparently been travelling for days on horseback. Bits had clearly been borrowed from Harry Potter or vice versa. This is what makes this series well worth watching. A wonderful and totally unintended sit-com. Great stuff for lovers of the truly awful!

Useful introduction to th East India Company
It has many illustrations and takes the form of a series of short articles rather than a detailed history. Good for quick reference but would not be the basis for a thesis! Maybe its a little flag waving as many books on the subject are but the illustrations are useful and there are some I haven't seen before
