Temper expectations against the ridiculously low cost
I bought this as a junker to experiment with guitar electronics -- different pickups and wiring schemes, etc. Given that it was a $60, not too bad a test platform. The rough neck needed to be sanded -- it was very rough -- a few passes of 800 grit paper made a huge, huge difference in the feel of the neck surface. The fret ends needed to be filed -- before filing the fret ends, the neck was lethal. Now after filing, the frets just aren't comfortable (that is much better than lethal). The 24th fret was not seated properly (much too high) -- I just filed it down so that the 22nd and 23rd frets could work properly. The intonation was not set -- easy enough to adjust, but the saddle for the low E string does not go back far enough for proper intonation -- but it's close enough for a $60 guitar. Machine heads had to be tightened to stop rattling. The fretboard was so dry that it looked gray. Added lemon oil and now it looks closer to conventional rosewood (I'm not saying it IS rosewood, just that it looks more like rosewood after lemon oil than when it arrived). I haven't touched the truss rod. The guitar arrived with a couple of dings and mars in the finish -- practically no packing in the thin shipping box, but it's a $60 guitar. The humbuckers did not have 4 conductors so I replaced them so that I could try splitting/parallel wiring schemes. I would purchase again (at the same price) for my purposes.

Poor replacement for my 1984 Kahler arm
I was looking for a black chrome version of the chrome arm on my 1984 Kahler. The replacement is 3/4" shorter than the original. The replacement has a plastic tip whereas the original has a heavier metal tip. The threads look like they are the same, but the replacement would only go in a couple of rotations. With the other two problems, I decided not to force it any further. Waste of money. I just found out about wammiworld -- I'll try theirs next; wish I knew about them first.
