Actual OEM battery as far as I can tell.
The battery for this phone is one of the hardest ones to source because of all the knock-offs out there. This one has the near field communications chip, it actually appears to have 1650mAh capacity, and as far as I can tell it's the real deal: an OEM battery.
I plan to buy more before the seller runs out.

Look at it in terms of "for the price"
This radio has been reviewed so many times I'm not really bringing much to the conversation. There are better HTs out there. This is far from the end-all-be-all. But those better HTs cost considerably more. Look at this radio in terms of "for the price". For the price, it's a lot of radio.
I appreciate having low cost equipment available because it promotes experimentation that would otherwise be cost-prohibitive. At its heart, one of the key tenets of ham radio is to improve the communications and technical aspects of the radio art. The low cost of the UV-5R makes it ideal for experimentation or just trying out aspects of ham radio that would be too costly with higher end equipment.
The UV-5R is a good candidate for a "fox" in a fox hunt. Paired with an inexpensive cable, it's an APRS transmitter. Paired with a discone antenna and a battery eliminator and it's a good candidate for an APRS iGate. Two of them can be used to make a low power ridge-top cross-band repeater when hiking in a valley. I'd be hesitant to send up a $400 radio as an APRS transmitter on a high altitude balloon with the very real risk of losing the payload, but a UV-5R? No problem.
For the price, the UV-5R is tough to beat.

Already in the mic
I'm using these to build the balanced output stage of a Schoeps mic circuit. I've already got them installed, and the mics perform really well.
