The Next Step
4 von 4 finden das hilfreich This book was just what my 8-year-old son needed to take his Lego building to the next level. He was a whiz with one- and two-dimensional creations, and was just beginning to experiment--albeit roughly--with building three-dimensional Lego objects. The pictures and diagrams in this book helped him conceptualize and refine his 3-D building strategies and also gave him ideas for new projects.

Left Me Wanting More
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Chrissie Hynde's journey to rock stardom is a testament to perseverance, timing, and being in the right place at the right time. For her, it was London, hanging out in the music scene, going to concerts and doing drugs--lots of them, which is what all the rock-star wannabes were doing in the late sixties and early seventies. Hynde found herself homeless a lot, too, and her couch-surfing led her to crash in some dangerous places but also to rub shoulders with artistic types who were on the scene and trying to make a name for themselves. If you love Hynde, you'll appreciate her personal pix scattered throughout and of people like Viv Westwood, Sid Vicious, and Iggy Pop. Unfortunately, Hynde barely mentions her relationship with Ray Davies of the Kinks and there's scant mention of what it was like on the road once the band made it big. I would have like more behind the scenes reveals as far as the company she kept once The Pretenders formed and toured: Who came backstage? What did her musical heroes say to her, if anything? How did they treat her once she made the Big Time. She also had an older brother, who was a member of a band himself back in Ohio, but fairly early in the book she stops discussing him and her parents altogether. What happened to them? What did they think of her success? Overall, I liked her story and her voice was definitely clear throughout its telling. Hynde paints a vivid picture of what it was like to come of age in the sixties.

Nice find; good value
This product was nice to find because this model is no longer available, and although there is a replacement filter out there, I prefer the original model's.
