You don't need an optical drive.
You don't need an optical drive. Just extra ssd storage. That's why Macs today don't have an optical drive.

Good backup card
This is a good card to have on hand in case anything catastrophic happens to your current card and you need to use your computer. it's quiet, and a good value for a card you're hardly going to use. It does a good job playing bluray on PowerDVD 16.
