the zip fix looks like it would have worked but the zipper on my wife's purse was too far gone for this to work as intended so I had to return it which went very smoothly.

Easy assembly but shoddy paint and thin metal on the belt cover housing

I researched many similar drill presses looking for the best value and quality and I believe that this model is clearly the winner but it has some issues. First of all, while assembling the unit, the cream colored paint flaked in the areas where I tightened the bolts for the base and the area where the headstock was attached to the column. Now I was not looking for a garage queen drill press but I thought that I should have at least made it past this assembly process before the paint flaked! I added locking washers to the bolts that were used to attach the column to the base as I felt that the constant vibrations would eventually work these bolts loose. I also only attached one of the three supplied handles as I also feel that as you rotate the drill downward, that the other two handles sometimes get in the way of a fluid motion. And I upgraded the supplied chuck with an aftermarket keyless chuck from Shars (SDC10 JT33). And lastly, and this is the one thing that bothers me the most, the hinged belt cover did not fit well out of the box. I tried tweeking it with a variety of methods that I have used in my aerospace assembly career and still nothing worked. So I guess that I am going to have to live with this drill press and rate it a C in terms of aesthetics but an A for functionality.
