good toner cartridge
Laser cartridge gives nice black sharp copies.

Great versatile dot matrix printer
I have used a lot of printers, at home and at work. The Panasonic kxp1123 is one of the best black & white printers. The ribbons are still readily available, and the ink doesn't run like an inkjet. The 24 pins allow it to be quite legible in condensed mode. I'm running a DOS program at work and it requires a printer with a parallel input, as opposed to the USB that most new printers use. A dot matrix printer can print carbons, unlike a laser or inkjet. The panel on the front allows you to select different fonts, and even turn off the out of paper sensor(something most won't). That allows me to print to the bottom of a page. It also accepts fan fold paper(tractor feed) as well as cut sheets. This makes it a lot easier to print banners or long data outputs. You can also easily control fonts and italic, double strike, condensed, etc. from software commands in DOS. Most dot matrix printers will not do all this one will. For someone wanting color, or having a new computer with no parallel output, this one isn't for you, but for those of us needing a workhorse on a legacy system, this is great.

can't beat the price and so far it prints perfectly
The price was a fraction of a current new cartridge, and I preferred buying this remanufactured cartridge to the 10-15 year old "new factory sealed" cartridges that are widely listed, as I understand toner deteriorates with age. This cartridge was also warranted, the old stock new ones usually aren't. I'm not saying the others might not print OK, but I suspect they might not. I know this one does.
