Works OK but has one small annoying bug
In general it is OK - outputs Dolby Digital 5.1 on the optical fibre as it should - so I can watch a movie from the Apple-TV and hear the sound on my home-theatre system at Dolby 5.1 - This was the reason I bought it since Apple-TV (4K) does not have an optical output.
But... It has one annoying bug!
It disables the audio stream on the HDMI, or limits it to stereo only
This means that if I turn on the home-theatre system, I hear 5.1 from the Apple-TV using the optical out.
But... and it is a big but -
I cannot keep the Apple-TV on "Auto" mode so if I want to watch something on the TV without the home-theatre system - I must switch it to "Stereo" output mode, and when I turn on the system, I need so switch it to 5.1 mode, This is annoying. Why can't it just let the stream go through on the HDMI and let the TV use it if I want... As is the case when I connect the HDMI directly without the extractor
