Great TPMS feature for Android head units.
My vehicle, like any past 2008, has the TPMS feature, but the sensors are in the wheels and have always vexed me with the dash light. Spent hundreds replacing sensors and trying to make the system happy, to no avail. Even when it does work, there's no information provided by the stock system, only that you have an issue with one of the tires. I've always said that someone should make a system with external sensors on the valve stems, and I was happy to see that someone did.
This system won't make that light go out on the dash, but it works great if you have an Android head unit (which I heartily recommend).
Installation is dead simple. The senders are labeled for the tire they go to, and are pre-linked to the receiver. Just screw them onto the valve stems. There's a locking nut if you are concerned about theft, but taking them is more like vandalism, as they would be useless to anyone without the same system. Then, plug in the USB receiver and install the software into your head unit.
The software sets itself up to auto-boot the first time you run it, and the settings can be easily tuned for pressure units, minimum and maximum pressure and temperature levels which trigger the alerts. The alerts overlay whatever else is running on the system at the time, as long as you are sure to give those permissions to the software. If the alerts become too annoying before you can put more air into the offending tire, there are a number of choices given for how long to silence them. The display is simple, but every piece of information is shown on one attractive screen, leaving no doubts as to which tire needs attention, and how severe the issue with it is.
Pros:
Easy installation
Good build quality
Works well out of the box
Replaceable batteries on sensors (this is a big one)
No air leakage
Well thought out software
Comes with a set of extra sensor seals, locking nuts and a tool for the nuts.
Cons:
There aren't many. But some may be worried about theft of the sensors. But the same system is available with internal ones if that is your concern. The only other minor gripe I had was with the included USB stick which contained the software, It was not recognized by my head unit as a valid USB storage device, and required me to copy the required APK file to a different stick in order to install it. There were multiple APKs on the stick, and it was unclear which I needed, so I punted and just used one called "multilingual" and it worked fine.
All in all, quite pleased with the system, and I dare say that it's a must for Android head unit users, especially with older vehicles lacking more advanced diagnostic systems.

Use heat!
This material is great to work with, but it has the same limitations as any PSA film. A clean work environment is a must, as any debris which finds it's way onto the material or work surface, will show when applied.
The adhesive feels semi-tacky to the touch, but when placed on large smooth surfaces, it pulls down hard. It can be repositioned fairly easily, but doing so can pull up debris from a less than absolutely clean surface. If wrapping around corners, you absolutely must use heat while pulling and slightly stretching the material. Otherwise it will lift. But once heat is applied, the material and adhesive will soften to the point that it smooths down easily and grips like iron. Adding heat to flat surfaces is also recommended for the best finish.
Once you have the learning curve down, this is some amazing and very attractive material. I highly recommend it!

Great emergency power source
These seem like great little units for time out in the boonies if you need some power. But I purchased them for a specific reason.
I run several pellet stoves for heat in the winter. Unfortunately, winter is the time of year when power outages occur most frequently, Anyone who runs pellets stoves knows that when the power goes out, not only do the stoves stop working, but they can cause your house to start filling with smoke (and possibly worse), before you get that generator going.
These units can provide immediate power, and will run most pellet stoves for 3 hours or more. Their portability make them ideal for getting power when and where you need it most, and for short outages, you may not need more than a couple of these units to get through it.
The rest of the time, these would be great for powering portable music players, LED lights for night fishing, charging portable electronics, etc... Just remember to keep them charged for when times get rough.
If they live up to the 500+ recharges rating (still unknown), the price is good and they will be invaluable for uses you probably haven't even thought of yet.
