Indispensible church history.
The book arrived in excellent condition and was very reasonably priced. This particular Loeb volume includes the first five of ten books. The second group of five books is available in another Loeb edition.
Eusebius is the oldest extant church historian, a very careful writer who included many excerpts from earlier chroniclers and other authors, some of which would not have survived the centuries otherwise. This Loeb addition has the Greek text facing an accurate English translation.
Kirsopp Lake has a good introduction, but he is rather dismissive of the testimony of the first/second century author Papias, which has been shown by scholars to be reliable and has been dated earlier than church historians in Lake's time (the 1920s) thought.
