Clear and Helpful
The great teacher Garchen Rinpoche has written a lucid guidebook to the spiritual path, full of useful tips on how to practise.
A shame this invaluable text isn't more widely available.

A Superb Guide to Profound Meditation
This book is an excellent guide to Dzogchen style meditation, trekchod or as the author translates it, "pristine mind". It is one of the best Buddhist books I have come across, written in a clear and readable style but never patronising. The text proceeds step by step, first introducing the principles then giving full descriptions and practical guided meditations. I cannot recommend it enough.
