A perfect replacement for the E2 solid plastic grip
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich I've been a double stack shooter my entire life - the Sig P220R is my first single stack and the narrower width of the grip just didn't feel good compared to the girth of my Beretta, CZ, and Glock pistols. I LOVE the way the Sig shoots - but not too happy with the way it fit into my hand.
Then enter this grip by Hogue - who is THE name in aftermarket quality grip replacements for pistols. I have an "official" Beretta rubber grip replacement for my model 96 (40 S&W) - it even came in a Beretta branded box - fine print - "made by Hogue".
This grip - a single piece wrap around - adds some thickness to the somewhat narrow grip and removes the hard - inflexible/sandpaper feel of the Sig E2 grip - which is the most uncomfortable grip I've ever held.
I have to say that this Hogue grip has completely improved my shooting experience with my Sig P220R and I simply cannot recommend it enough.
ONE NOTE - if you have the P220 model with the solid wrap-around plastic E2 grip - you'll need to check the frame of your P220 to make sure it has the 4 bolt-holes for a standard grip - some P220 frames with the E2 grip do not have these all important holes while others do. IF your frame does NOT have these holes - this grip won't work with your gun. IF your frame DOES have these holes - you'll need to purchase a set of Sig grip screws - I went with a custom black anodized stainless set made by a gunsmith - I found that vendor here on Ebay. :D Enjoy and safe shooting!

Get yours while you can...
If you are the owner of a Nikon - Nikkor AF-S 500mm f/4D series I or series II lens - the HK-28 is simply something you can't live without. The AF-S series I originally came with the HK-24 - which was discontinued in favor of the HK-28 - carbon-fiber and a bit longer if I remember correctly.
The HK-28 is no longer available from Nikon. They stopped making them. So guess what!?!?! If you've got a several thousand dollar AF-S I or II 500mm f/4 - you're pretty much out of luck if your hood is damaged... which recently happened to me.
I was lucky enough to find a replacement for nearly $100 less ($355) than my local Nikon dealer said they "might" be able to get. And in reality they admitted that Nikon doesn't make it anymore - they were going to buy one here on Ebay and just mark it up to cover the shipping, import fees, etc... Thus the $100 difference. I just decided to get it for myself and save the $$$.
In all these hoods are good. They are brittle. They can be cracked and damaged if mishandled. They are also nearly 1/2 the weight of the previous metal versions. And in the case of the 300mm f/2.8 AF-S II - the hood is twice as deep as the hood on the AF-D series - at half the weight.
The AF-S lenses are great. But be warned- even though the service record of the AF-S I and II super tele lenses is pretty solid - buying one of these lenses WITHOUT the accessories included is going to give you fits. Because these hoods are simply becoming harder and harder to get your hands on.
