Great value MgFe flint and striker

Good to have in an emergency. I bought 3 and stored them in different places (car/bugout bag etc). Pros: Long rod - Good grip - looped cord for hanging or carrying - striker is on the loop so you won't lose it. Cons: MgFe rod is coated. You need to find the ridge running along the rod and scrape the coating off. Striker is a bit too light (It's piece of hacksaw blade). It does work, but better to use a pen knife/steel. I don't think it'll last for hundreds of strikes. About 10 strikes so far shows noticeable wear. Great for the price though.

Great charger for the home or lab.

Perfect for NiCad and NiMH batteries as the 'smart' chargers sometimes cannot recognize depleted cells showing cell error. This doesn't. I have 2 other NiMH chargers and although they work ok (one is a cheap USB powered charger, the other can only do AA and AAA), this feels good quality. The other thing worth commenting on is that this unit has a discharge button. I haven't used it yet, but I am very interested in cycling some batteries through it. Display is ok but I would like to see more information on it - e.g. V/A ETA etc. It only does 4 cells at a time and can accommodate 9v as well. A good product.
