the title says it all, immediately engages the viewer.
This to me is probably the best series I have seen. there was another series "Monarch of the Glen" which was indeed a great series. Downton Abbey has it all. Music script and acting is spot on. Julian Fellowes is a genius in his field and is an amazing man. happy to have the whole series and movies. Perhaps there is a follow up as well. I hope so.

Closing out
I like the way it brought everything from the story to its ending. The music is enthralling, exquisite and beautifully crafted. We were following the lives of the characters with keen interest. We found it spellbinding, inasmuch that we felt for the characters and were concerned with their success and happiness. The acting was just superb. We are very grateful to Julian Fellowes to have written such a pictorial novel where we came to love and dislike and admire the various characters in their life's challenges. Especially Mr Barrow who turned his life around and displayed great courage in the end through his "repentance" from a lifestyle that would not bring him any type of true happiness but was at the end getting there. Full marks goes to the production crew and supporting staff to have put together a thoroughly entertaining series.

Highly entertaining
Joan Hickson is brilliant in her role as Jane Marple. This series has always pleased us with it's seriously well acted characters. Great stories which gets you involved and try to work out "who done it". Great viewing.
