Only the last 3/4 of the book is true. The name the horse was MR.Chips,
When he was purchased from father in Irwin Pa. My father bought him from a farm in the area.
I guess they thought the story would be better adding the Amish.
To my knowledge there's no Amish in the area.
I'm 78 , with a memory is, just don't ask where I was yesterday.

SHOE MARKED 9 NARROW----------WAS ABOUT A 10 WIDE!!!!!!!!!!
DIDN'T RETURN BECAUSE SHIPPING COST WOULD HAVE BEEN 20.00 BOTH WAYS.
GAVE TO GOODWILL.
