Nikon D80 with 18-200mm Nikor VR lens

I love the fast response to the shutter button: NO push.......click anymore. The image quality is excellent. Battery life seems long also (I just got back from 10 days in Hawaii so I gave the camera a pretty good owrkout). One thing i didn't like is that the integrated flash casts a shadow of the lens on the image (it should be a bit farther from the body when it pops up). It has a zillion features I'm not sure I'll ever use but we will see... The only down side of this system is weight. If you joined the digital camera world for a light easily portable snapshot camera this is NOT it. It is a full size full weight product. I'm very satisfied at this point of time.

Sony DVP-CX995V Multi-disc DVD Player

I bought this when my 300 disk Sony DVD changer pooped out. The operation is slow (all of these DVD changers are. I use it on a 100" high def front projection setup. The down side of this (and other Sony products I have) is the user interface is very clunky. Levels of menus stretch into the gloom to access all of the stuff you need to setup (thankfully only once!). Simple commands like a " PLAY DISK ### don't exist. The image quality is excellent and I like the fact that it interfaces with my other Sony stuff (I have the same pluses and minuses with them). The user interface is below average. Overall I give it an average.
