This is your classic whole day (12 Hr.) project but it's worth it.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Upgraded the Toshiba P305-S8820 T5550 processor 1.83 Ghz to the T9500 2.6 Ghz.
Reason for the upgrade: The Mcaffe Juggernaught was ruining my Solitaire and Hearts play. Cards were frezzing in mid air. My CPU and computer in general were running very warm indeed. It was only a matter of time before Mcaffe would eat them both and then proceed to eat the house.
I do not know anthing about benchmarks but my windows experience index went from from a 4.8 to 5.4 out of a possibe 5.9 for the processor. Unfortunetly, nothing is going to help the onboard Intel video chip that has a 3.5 index score. and yes my card play is smooth again. The cooling fan only runs intermittantly. There may be a very slight increase in temperature. Which is to be expected.
Other than a customs problem (they left the box partially open) bent pin when I opened the envelope and chip fell out of the box everthing went and is well. Computer probably good for another 3 or 4 years.
Do a search for your computers disassembly instructions before tackleing this project. Get plenty of plastic baggies for the parts an screws. Make a template for screw locations using plain copy paper and scotch tape the screws to the template. When a screw is needed just push the screw through the paper.
