AMT 1953 '53 Corvette Model Kit 1/25 Factory Sealed New

"Good Detail For A Reasonable Price"

I built this kit as a teenager so this will be my second time round. Kit is very detailed and with some of the optional parts provided and a part or two from your 'spares' box, you can build a '54 model. Newer edition has whitewall tires. Many parts, including upper and lower radiator hoses, steering shaft, separate inner fenders, etc necessitate careful assembly. My only two beefs are these: clear plastic pieces to represent the stone guards over the headlights are thick and unrealistic looking - wish I could find photo-etch substitute; fit of body panels (especially hood) is a little questionable, but this actually matches the real car. Also would be nice if AMT included an expanded decal sheet like they do in so many of their reissues. After building the '53/'54 'Vette kit, building the AMT '55 is a snap Overall this is an enjoyable kit and a good value.
