Lightweight plastic.
Described as Stainless Steel construction, but is plastic. Does the job, but is not as described and unlikely to last as long as stainless steel would. can be stuck onto surface or screwed on.

Straightforward guide
Good basic introduction to the Mandolin, music theory, how to hold, chords and pick practice. So far so good and the book is helping me gain confidence. As I have had violin lessons before, this is an easy progression, but if you are patient and serious about learning this instrument, following this guide would probably get you started.
