Works fine for my UV-5RTP and UV-82HP
I fully drained my UV-5RTP and UV-82HP radios and tried this cable on their OEM charging cradles. Running off a 2.4 amp port, this started drawing about 800mA at 5 volts. As the batteries got charged, the amperage dropped as expected. Batteries were fully charged after ~5 hours with the radios off. Everyone recommends against leaving radios on while charging, but these things are so cheap I don't really mind if their life is shorted. I usually leave a radio on & charging 24/7 on my desk, and this cable is a handy way to be able to charge it anywhere without the clutter of another wall wart.
