Awesome collectible, caution with the batteries
This is a great little ornament, and not necessarily for a tree - it looks good sitting on a display shelf. Devil in the Dark is my favorite Star Trek episode and this little figurine really gets it right. I have long wanted one and finally splurged and got it. Be aware of one thing: it runs on two LR44 batteries, which come with the ornament. As it is an older collectible, the batteries may not be good - the ones in the item I received were spent and slightly corroded. I removed them from the battery compartment to see what size they were, to buy replacements. I left them on the counter overnight and in the early morning heard a loud cracking POP! sound. I couldn't figure out what it was, but then a short while later it occurred once more, just as I happened to be looking at the counter space. It was the batteries; they had exploded - with quite some force. Googled it, found out it's not unusual. The little pieces flew apart, across teh room, and could have really hurt. Don't want that to happen near an eye. So, be cautious, and if your ornament arrives with non-working batteries, take 'em out and dispose of them carefully. Otherwise, this item is a delight!
