Thorough History of Early America
Like a lot of Americans in recent years, I've become the family genealogy researcher. Our "heinz-57" roots include colonial ancestors, many from Britain. This book is proving ideal for putting their world in context, & helping me to decipher which branches came (or, were brought), for what reasons.

Great Costume Reference & Social History Source
Dressing A Nation: Petticoats & Frock Coats, is written for children and young people, but is a wonderful book for all ages. It makes for pleasant reading, but is a surprisingly solid reference for costumers, history buffs, and genealogists. Covered are clothing, accessories, & materials, within historical context. And it includes the costume of women, men, & children; the commoner & the well-heeled, with crisp & well-thought-out illustrations - Highly recommended!
