Nobody like Randy Newman
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich It's hard to compare Randy Newman because there is NOBODY like him anywhere. Never has been, never will be. If you like him at all, you will have trouble not playing this CD over and over and over. Great music, great orchestration, and remarkably funny.
There are two nice little ballads that I am sure some accomplished vocalists will be covering soon, but to me the standout is "Only A Girl." It's a song about a May- December relationship that makes an older man happier than he has ever been until he has a sudden epiphany. Listen very close for the last word at the end of the song as the happy balloon of his love suddenly deflates. I defy you not to tap your steering wheel with the music if you first hear it while driving. Go ahead, try not to.
Great CD, but I admit a prejudice to being a big fan. If you have never listened to Randy Newman but are curious, this is a great example of what makes him different and in many ways superior to other artists.
Buy it and enjoy.

Great measuring cup from the best cooking glass company of all time, Pyrex. Having Wonder Woman's image on it makes it even better.
A Wonder Woman promotional product that places her in the kitchen tells women that, yes, a woman's place might occasionally still be in the kitchen... but only if they are using high quality measuring cups from the Pyrex company.
