Apple 820-1696-A Airport Bluetooth Module A1115

Modern convenience to old Macs

I recently rescued a 2003 Power Mac G4 (FW800) from a thrift shop. While it didn't come with Bluetooth from the factory, it did have a connector for this module on the logic board. This little thing is all you need to enable Bluetooth and gain support for a wireless mouse and keyboard — totally plug-and-play in OS X 10.4.x (Tiger). Don't forget to connect the blue antenna wire (tucked near the port) and for security, you might want to fasten it down with the right screws.
