Good torch
Seems like a good torch, I managed to lose my previous one which served me well. Pricey but matched by the quality.

Epic, almost finale of the Sharpe series
I've been a long time fan of Bernard Cornwell and 'saved' reading the Sharpe novels for some other time. Well, that other time came mid last year, when I purchased and read all 21 novels in their historic chronological order. Waterloo is book 20 but as the books weren't written in historical order, was at its time the 'final' book. As such its a worthy finale to Sharpe's progress through the ranks and battles within Wellington's army. As with all Cornwell's works this takes the history of the event and weaves with Sharpe's own story and that of the common soldier and officers.
I'm biased as I really like Cornwell's works especially when part of a series. This one is right up there and an interesting account of the days up to and including the famous battle, giving over more of the book than usual to the battle itself, which considering its place in history is of no surprise and quite welcome. Never shy of showing the brutality and bravery at both a personal and collective scale it tells the story of the battle in a seemingly never-ending sequence of attrition, sacrifice, horror and gallantry but with a recognition of these on both sides.
I won't spoil the ending for you but as this is the penultimate book, Sharpe prevails and lives to march again!

Only used once...
...so far, but seemed like a good bit of kit. I'm new to soldering so it came in handy for tidying up my heavy-handedness,
