Why did I ever stop using these?
My first safety razor in decades. Hadn't shaved for a couple days so I immediately tried it out. Very smooth and comfortable shave, no pulling or binding and no clogging with hairs that abrade your face. Even on a conservative setting, cut was smooth and even.
With multi-blade cartridges, I feel like it cuts on the first pass and plucks after it clogs up. The Merkur cuts on every pass. I noticed when I was through, my face did not show or feel the usual rash from cartridge razors.
Can't remember why I stopped using this type of razor many years ago but it is clearly superior to the cartridge models. Won't be changing back.
