Don't ever read the Alchemist
2 von 25 finden das hilfreich Every year I read the New York Time's Book Review's best of fiction books. I also read the Pulitzer Prize winner. If I have time I'll read other recommendations. Last year a co worker recommended that I read the Alchemist. It is crap in its purist form. There are many websites devoted to how awful it is. Still sappy people of lesser tastes recommend it. Don't get sucked in. Or read it so you can understand what people who know nothing about literature read. I had headaches reading it but I had to finish it. I told the recommender how awful it was. I felt bad doing that. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I was upset that such a bad book wasted my time.
