Used in some custom work
This product is operating very well and has a good value.
However, HP is a real piece of work here. This must be used instead of standard heatsink assemblies for respective sockets, since HP does not seem to care for reference designs all that much.
I had purchased a HP z220 system board to go in a basic eATX chassis with a normal PSU (a power cable adapter was required). While the board holes were standard ATX layout, the fan holes were not LGA1155 reference holes and required this product. Additionally, there was no retention plate for the heatsink either with the board or the heatsink, but I’m willing to bet that HP has the mounting posts on case. I instead went to the Home Depot to buy some 6-32 nuts and #6 washers to mount this product to the board.
